🇮🇪 On 1 July 2026, Ireland assumes the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

It is a moment of political significance.

It is also a moment that should concentrate the minds of boards and senior leaders.

Over the past year, something fundamental has changed in the relationship between governments, regulators and the boardroom.

In the UK, senior ministers, the National Cyber Security Centre and the National Crime Agency took the unprecedented step of writing directly to the Chairs and Chief Executives of the country’s largest organisations.

Not to their IT departments.
Not to their security teams.
To the board.

The message was clear:

Webinar - Wed July 1st 2026 - 11:00 -12:00 - Online

Digital resilience is now a leadership responsibility.

At the same time, ENISA, the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity, has documented thousands of cyber incidents across Europe, warning of increasing activity by state-aligned actors targeting critical infrastructure, institutions and the financial sector.

And where governments warn, regulators now mandate.

DORA. NIS2. The EU AI Act.

Different regulations. The same destination.

Board accountability.

Ireland’s role makes this conversation even more important.

As the European headquarters for many of the world’s most influential technology companies, cloud providers and digital platforms, Ireland sits at the heart of Europe’s digital ecosystem. Questions of cyber security are increasingly questions of economic resilience, strategic autonomy and digital sovereignty.

When Ireland assumes the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, it does so at a time when digital resilience has become a matter of national and European strategic importance.

The uncomfortable reality is that many boards are still not prepared for the question they are increasingly likely to face:

Can you prove your organisation is resilient?

Not believe it.

Not hope it.

Not assert it.

Prove it.

On 1 July, I will be hosting a live executive briefing examining why every road—from Whitehall’s warnings to Brussels’ mandates—leads to the same conclusion:

Resilience is no longer a technical discipline. It is a board discipline.

📅 Dear Board: Digital Resilience Is Now Your Responsibility

🕚 11:00 AM (Ireland / UK)

This session is designed for:
• Chairs and CEOs
• Non-Executive Directors
• Audit and Risk Committees
• Chief Risk Officers
• CISOs
• Compliance Leaders
• Advisers to boards and executive teams

Different roads. One destination.

The organisations that emerge strongest will be those that recognised resilience as a leadership challenge before they were forced to.
